Romanticism in the North - from Friedrich to Turner

Romanticism in the North is the first international survey exhibition of northern European landscape painting. The show features works from the Netherlands, Germany, Scandinavia and Britain, by artists ranging from J.M.W. Turner to Caspar David Friedrich. The paintings address subjects as diverse as travel, the power of nature, and spirituality.

Opening hours: 10am–5pm Tuesday–Sunday, Liberation Day (5 May 2017), Ascension Day (25 May 2017), and Whit Sunday and Monday (4 & 5 June 2017)
