Flux - Kom nu zullen we dansen

Musical Audio Tour ‘Highlights from the Groninger Museum Collection’

Flux, the alter ego of Groningen singer/keyboard player Irene Wiersma, makes whimsical Dutch pop music with surreal lyrics. Dreamlike songs that are subtly subversive, carrying you to an often forbidding – largely personal – controversy-ridden world. Flux at times collaborates in performances with artists from other disciplines, but is now busy conquering the Dutch stages with its five-strong ensemble.

Band:

  • Irene Wiersma, vocals, keyboards
  • Durk van der Meer, keyboards
  • Ronald Kamphuis, guitar
  • Ruurd-Jan de Meulder, bass
  • Corneel Canters, drums

Held op sokken (2010) (EP)
Pluimgewichten (2010)

Ik zoek, zoek, zoek,
in je armen, koude warmte,
in de muziek, een klinkende vluchtroute,
een illusie die ver van hier ontstond.
Ik zou wel willen weten
hoe je heet.

I search, search, search
In your arms, cold warmth,
in the music, an escape route sounding,
an illusion created far from here,
I’d just really like to know
your name
