Eagle (29 VII 77), 1977
India ink, pencil and watercolour on paper, 86 x 61 cm
One of my songs is called "No blue birds passing by", and when I saw the eagle series by Baselitz I instantly thought of that song, especially this picture, with the blue and the black and the graphite standing parted next to each other. In the song I wrote for this picture I used parts of my sing played backwards to make Baselitz's upside/down sound.
