Musical Audio Tour 'Jan Altink. Icons of the Groningen Countryside'

The Icons of the Groningen Countryside. Jan Altink (1885 – 1971) exhibition led the Groninger Museum to invite musicians from the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Norway, UK and USA to write a song inspired by a work of their choice. The resulting Musical Audio Tour can be heard on the multimedia player available at the information desk.
Selected musicians will be invited to perform at the Groninger Museum and some will shoot a music video (Groninger Museum Sessions).

You can find more information (in Dutch) on the Museum video channels and via social media. The Museum previously put together two Musical Audio Tours to accompany Museum Collection exhibitions. While taking the Multimedia Tour, you can listen to the songs. You will also find an Audio Tour about the most significant works of art in the exhibition, including background information to listen to. Some pieces will only have a song to accompany them.
