Wheelchairs and mobility scooters
Groninger Museum is easily accessible for both wheelchairs and mobility scooters. A few wheelchairs and walking frames are available to borrow at the museum. There is also an accessible toilet on level -1. If you would like to borrow a wheelchair or walking frame, we recommend reserving one in advance. You can do this by calling +31(0)50 3 666 555 or emailing info@groningermuseum.nl We will contact you as soon as possible after receiving your request.
Supervisors
If you are unable to move around the museum independently due to a disability, you may bring a companion. Free tickets for companions can be ordered via the ticket page.

Parking with a disabled parking badge
Drivers with a disabled parking permit can park in one of the two disabled parking spaces on Ubbo Emmiussingel, next to the museum.

Would you like to visit the museum, but don’t know who to go with or how to get there? Then our Museum Shuttle is just what you need. We’ll pick you up for a cultural outing to the Groninger Museum and take you home again afterwards. See here for more information.
Low-stimulation openings
Groninger Museum organises low-stimulus openings. You can then visit the exhibitions with as few environmental stimuli as possible. We only admit a limited number of people at these times. The lighting in the galleries is dimmed, and sounds and music are turned down or switched off. Chairs are available, and you can borrow a folding stool. There is also a quiet room. Our staff are available to answer questions or provide assistance. If necessary, they can guide you appropriately and calmly. A museum educator is also present to answer questions about the exhibition and architecture.

Tours in sign language

Tours for people with visual impairments
The museum offers guided tours for blind and partially sighted visitors. During these tours, we focus extensively on describing and discussing. We also explore various ‘touch objects’, which allow you to experience art through touch. This project is made possible by Rabobank. Colour blindness correction glasses
Groninger Museum has a colour-blindness correction pair of glasses available. You can collect them from the information desk. You can use the glasses free of charge during your museum visit. The glasses are suitable for red-green colour blindness. This is the most common form of colour blindness, also known as the Protan and Deutan types. The glasses can help you experience colours such as blue, red or purple more vividly and distinguish the nuances between areas of colour more clearly.
