Exhibition Thinking Hands
As technology increasingly seems to be thinking, deciding and acting, the lens-media exhibition Thinking Hands asks what the body actually still knows. What remains of the knowledge that cannot be digitised, that cannot be conveyed via a screen, and that arises solely from the interaction between hand and material?

Workshop Ink Your Online Identity door The Hmm
Every swipe, click, and like you make online is tracked and stored. Big tech companies use this data to build a system that claims to know you and presents it as your identity. But how closely does that identity match who you really are? In this workshop, you'll explore with The Hmm, a platform for internet culture, whether your online identity is the same as your offline self. Who are you when no one is watching? Design a temporary tattoo of your online alter ego. Does the image on your arm match the way you see yourself?

The Great Household Competition
How quickly can you empty a laundry basket? Can you get a shirt perfectly wrinkle-free? And who will come out on top? Put your skills to the test during The Great Noorderlicht Household Competition. Try asking AI. But when it comes to ironing, folding laundry, or peeling potatoes, we humans are still faster, and we do it without even thinking. Under the watchful eye of referee drag queen Lola Lasagne, you’ll compete in a series of household challenges. And unlike at home, there are great prizes to be won here! Be on time, because the competitions start SHARP. Just ask Lola.

Date a work of art
Take a break from the buzz of Museumnacht and go on a date with an artwork from the Thinking Hands exhibition, together with Noorderlicht guide Yasmin Hasan. Look closely, ask questions, discover new perspectives, and engage in conversation about what the artwork evokes in you. No prior knowledge is needed, just curiosity and an open mind. To truly meet the artwork, you’ll take on a short challenge with the group that connects to the work. This way, you don’t just experience the artwork with your mind, but also through your body.
