Groninger Museum's new chapter opens to everyone on 19. and 20. September. Two days of conversations, workshops, performances, and a Museumnacht in between. All activities are included in your opening weekend ticket, with the exception of Groninger Museumnacht.

Playshop in Playing House: CaccHho CucchhA, with artist Mercedes Azpilicueta and educational employee Mette van Zoest. In the same spirit as the workshops that shaped this installation, where children designed and built objects straight from their own imagination, this playshop invites young visitors to keep exploring and playing alongside the artist herself.

Toastie Cafe, by artists Matthew Lutz-Kinoy & Natsuko Uchino Enjoy a toastie at our activated Toastie Cafe by Matthew Lutz-Kinoy & Natsuko Uchino in the Coop Himmelb(l)au pavilion. There will be kimchi, Gouda cheese, a special designed wrapping paper and an image to discover on the bread.

In conversation: Experimental Collectivity, Houses, Film Sets and Convents, with artists Ani Schulze, Katie Schwab and Pamela Phatsimo Sunstrum, moderated by curator Clare Molloy Three artists discuss how they approach the questions of how to live together in their works. Through their installations, soap operas, film sets and paintings.

Workshop in Playing House: The Course in Doubt, developed by artists Ola Vasiljeva. A workshop lead by Mette van Zoest from the Participation and Education department, which treats uncertainty as a skill worth practicing.

Dream Sessions in Playing House: The Dream Machine is Asleep, with artist Eva Koťátková. This workshop is a dream session in which young participants draw, write and record their dreams to fuel the Dream Machine by Eva Koťátková.

In conversation: artist Frances Stark & director De Ateliers Amsterdam Maxine Kopsa, introduced by artistic director of Groninger Museum Roos Gortzak Stark's own publication lent ‘The Architect & The Housewife’ its title and its central question, who gets to think big, and who is left to maintain what has been built.

On the hour, Vivian's Garden by artist Rosalind Nashashibi screens in the Auditorium, a thirty-minute film about the relationship between two artists living and working together in Guatemala, who are mother and daughter, Elisabeth Wild (1922-2020) and Vivian Suter (1949).
As evening falls, the museum stays open late for the tenth edition of Groningen's Museumnacht, with music, performance, and a full programme running until 1.00.
