The student in Groningen 1614-2014
By displaying all kinds of objects, photographs, and videos, this exhibition addressed a wide range of aspects of 400 years of student life in the city. For four centuries students have been constituting a colourful, bright, and critical element in Groningen, leaving their mark on the city. The exhibition shed light on students’ roles in the development of the city, in politics, and in several wars as well as in sports and of course in social life. It was part of RUG400: a manifestation in honour of the 400th anniversary of the University of Groningen.
