The Veendorp Collection. Life’s work of a caring collector

From 1969 onwards, the Groninger Museum has been having the art collection of R.J. Veendorp (1905-1983) on long-term loan from the J.B. Scholtenfonds. This exhibition was compiled alongside the publication of an extensive catalogue about the collection. Work from Haagse School painters as Jan Hendrik Weissenbruch, Jozef Israëls, Anton Mauve, and the brothers Maris, and Amsterdam impressionists as George Hendrik Breitner and Isaac Isreals were on display, as well as paintings from W.B. Tholen, Jan Toorop, and Paul Gauguin.
