We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing away of Alessandro Mendini. He was of great importance for design and architecture worldwide. Mendini designed the Groninger Museum, his gift to Groningen for many generations now and in the future.
Until recently the Groninger Museum worked together with Alessandro Mendini on the exhibition 'Mondo Mendini', which he curated, and which will open on 12 October. Remembering Mendini is, in this year in which we also celebrate 25th anniversary of the museum building, bittersweet.
