NP3, the platform for experimental contemporary art, and the Groninger Museum are once again seeking emerging talent in Groningen. The search for the Young Grunn Artist (YGA) 2019 is a follow-up to the successful project that led to Esther de Graaf’s solo show at the Groninger Museum in 2016. An exhibition of work by this year’s winner will go on view in late 2020 at the museum.
The YGA programme is a special joint project of NP3 and the Groninger Museum that offers a group of artists a unique opportunity to take the next step in their careers under professional supervision and raise their artistic practice to a higher level. Through a year-long coaching process, curators from NP3 and the Groninger Museum will support participants in realising their artistic goals and making connections on the national and international art circuit. Each artist will also create a proposal for an exhibition consisting of new work. On the basis of the process and proposals, one artist will be chosen to conclude the programme with a solo exhibition at the Groninger Museum.
Application and selection
Artists wishing to take part should submit a letter of application and accompanying documentation by 10 June 2019. A longlist will then be drawn up, and curators from NP3 and the Groninger Museum will select programme participants from this group.
